National Geographic Italia announces the departure of the “Alps 2021” mission

Published on August 9 on the website of National Geographic Italia, media partner of the project “On the trail of the glaciers”, the news of the departure of the mission “Alps 2021”, the final stage of the expedition “On the trail of the glaciers – Alps 2020”, as well as the field phase of the whole ten-year project.

In the article it is underlined that the conclusion of this mission will finalize the largest archive of photographic comparisons of the main mountain glaciers of the Earth, thus allowing to highlight the variations of the glacial masses in the last 170 years thanks to the discovery of photographs prior to 1850.
