The photographic exhibition “Italian Routes” lands in Oslo

The photographic exhibition “Italian Routes – Mountains, Mountaineering, Climate Change”, an original project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, curated by Fabiano Ventura and realised in collaboration with the Macromicro association, will be on display in Oslo from 9 to 19 March 2023 at the Det Gamle Biblioteket.
The communicative objective of the exhibition, which is divided into several sections dedicated to Italian and international mountain landscapes, is to promote the great Italian tradition linked to mountain culture and mountaineering as a means of knowledge of the mountain territory and its values, the importance of environmental awareness in accessing natural habitats, and the attention Italy pays to the defence of ecosystems.
The inauguration is scheduled for Wednesday, 8 March at 6.30 p.m., with a speech by Fabiano Ventura, who will present the aims of the exhibition, and Andrea Spolaor, a researcher at the CNR, who will present the glaciological research activities of the Institute of Polar Sciences.
A series of side events have also been organised within the photographic exhibition, such as a musical evening, a seminar on climate change, a series of guided tours and an event dedicated to Italian manufacturing excellence in the winter sports eherepment sector.

9 March, 11:30-13:00 – Meeting of the photographer and exhibition curator, Fabiano Ventura, and CNR scientist, Andrea Spolaor, with members of the Diplomatic Spouses Association and the Museum Group in Oslo (event by invitation only);
11 e 19 March, ore 12:00 – Visite guidate per il pubblico;
14 March, 9:30-14:00 – The seminar, introduced and moderated by Prof. Maria Gabriella Trovato, professor at the Department of Landscape Architecture of the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, analyzes the socio-environmental impact of climate change through the interventions of Prof. Kerstin Potthoff and Prof. Tore Edvard Bergaust from the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Prof. Elisabeth Sjödahl from the Technical University of Architecture and Design in Oslo, Prof. Alejandra Mancilla from the Department of philosophy, history of art and ideas from the University of Oslo and by Prof. Eimear Tynan from the Arctic University of Tromsø.

15 March, 2.00-4.00 pm – Glaciers and Italian companies: an event dedicated to Italian excellence in the mountain and winter sports eherepment sector. The following Italian companies will be present at the event, organized in collaboration with Assosport, the Italian Association for Manufacturers of Sport Eherepment: La Sportiva (based in Val di Fiemme, has been producing technical clothing, footwear and accessories for climbing, hiking and mountaineering since 1928); Ferrino (offers a wide selection of products for winter sports and outdoor activities, including tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, clothing and footwear. Ferrino also distributes the brands Black Crows, CarePLUS, DMM, Gebrer, Source Human nature, PLUM, Opinel, Primus, Silva, Tenaya, True Utility and Trangia); Aku (the shoe factory has been producing mountain, hunting and leisure shoes for over 40 years, in full respect of the incomparable Italian manufacturing tradition); Scarpa (a family-run footwear company that has produced technologically advanced sports shoes for over 65 years and is run according to a highly innovative and sustainable business model); Vibram (founded by the talented mountaineer Vitale Bramani, the entrepreneur who invented the Vibram Carrarmato sole, the company specializes in the development of innovative sports shoes with the best soles in terms of performance, but also in their impact on the environment).
16 March, 6.30 p.m. – Concert “Glitch. Paesaggi Sonori”. Concert for cello with Flavia Massimo, contemporary cellist, sound designer and event curator, specialising in both classical and electronic music. Artistic director of Paesaggi Sonori, a music and landscape festival, Flavia Massimo presents her latest record Glitch, an organic world where perfection is distorted in a fusion of acoustic and electronic music.
