ISPRA and DICEA Conference ‘The Grand Urban Challenges: Climate Change and Environmental Quality

On Tuesday, 31 March at 9:30 a.m., within the framework of the conference organised by ISPRA (Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale) and DICEA (Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile Edile e Ambientale dell’Università La Sapienza di Roma), Fabiano Ventura will give a talk entitled: Sulle Tracce dei Ghiacciai (On the Trails of the Glaciers) photography and science at the service of the environment, on the threshold of climate change of global significance.
The urban issue is assuming increasing importance in the debate on sustainable territorial development. On the basis of the work carried out by the National System for the Protection of the Environment (ISPRA/ARPA/APPA), with the Urban Environmental Quality Report – 2014 edition and the Focus dedicated to climate change, ISPRA and Sapienza University of Rome/DICEA are organising a moment of reflection on the current ability to assess environmental quality in Italian cities with respect to the major environmental issues that mitigation of and adaptation to climate change are strongly interconnected. The invitation to participate is addressed to the world of research and the profession, public administrators and environmental associations.
